CHENGDU 80 RULES

MISSION

As part of the SWUFE-CDAR annual conference, the Chengdu 80 competition will provide opportunities for students to interact with leading academics in finance and technology, and the government, but also to sharpen problem-solving and programming skills and demonstrate teamwork. The contest also provides a platform for industry and academia to encourage and focus public attention on the next generation of finance and computing professionals as they pursue excellence.


INTRODUCTION

The contest is a FinTech Design and Development Competition among teams of students representing institutions of higher education which utilizing open source technology. Teams are required to make a working prototype with the purpose of solving a given problem within an 80-hour development session, and then to present their work for judging in a presentation session.


ORGANIZATION

Chengdu 80 is organized by SWUFE, CDAR and the Chengdu Financial Holding Group. The organizers set the policy and general rules for the conduct of the contest. The organizers are solely responsible for interpreting the rules and for ruling on unforeseen situations.

TEAM COMPOSITION

Each participating team will consist of up to 6 student contestants from a single academic institution, led by a faculty member or postdoctoral scholar as an advisor. The team must include members of both genders and a mix of undergraduate and graduate students. There is no skills requirement for team members.

The advisor can contribute ideas but may not contribute to the actual development activity during the contest. The advisor must certify the eligibility of contestants and be the official point-of-contact for the team before and during contest activities.


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

An eligible student must be registered as a qualified student (full-time student, part-time student, co-op student, exchange student, student serving internship, or extramural student) at the participating institution and be willing and able to compete in Chengdu 80. A student may compete for only one institution during a contest year.


PRIZES

The competition prizes will be divided into three categories, each team will be awarded accordingly by the judges using a set of criteria in the presentation session. The innovator prize will be awarded to five teams with 5000 RMB each, the pioneer prize will be awarded to two teams with 30000 RMB each, and the trailblazer prize will be awarded to one team with 40000 RMB. In addition, teams awarded the trailblazer and pioneer prizes will be invited to Southwestern University of Finance and Economics after the pandemic. Each team will be provided with hotel accommodations, flights (economy class) and local transportation.


CONDUCT OF THE CONTEST

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chengdu 80 competition will be held online this year. Participants will utilize the provided Servers and computer terminals to develop and implement the competition project. At the end of the development session, they need to make a video for displaying their projects. Video format is limited to mp4, AVI, mov, rmvb, rm. Each team should complete the mission independently during the time of competition and submit their projects before relative deadline.

At the end of the development session, all team need to upload the results of the competition (including PPT, source code, and display video) on the Amazon competition platform within the specified time of the competition. The PPT and source code need to be uploaded to the platform before development session, and the deadline for uploading the display video will be slightly delayed. Please reserve time in advance to upload the files. The Schedule will show more details. If the participating team encounters unexpected problems during the upload of results, please contact the organizer of the competition in time.

In random order, the conference will play the 15-minute project presentation video of each team. After all presentations, a judge team consisting of the professionals from both academia and industry will evaluate the projects. Winners will be announced at the end. Further details of the competition and system configuration will be shared with registered teams.


COMPETITION PRODUCTIONS

The competition products must be completed independently by the teams, and it is not allowed to use any third-party assistance. The competition products must have certain practical value and no computer virus. The competition teams shall have the full intellectual right of the work when submitting the work and shall not have any infringement and comply with the relevant laws and regulations. Once found, it will be immediately disqualified and bear the corresponding responsibility.


SCORING OF THE CONTEST

In the presentation session, all teams’ projects will be evaluated by a panel of judges across a set of criteria including presentation delivery, feature richness, system architecture, user experience, design, and analytics. The judges are responsible for determining the score of submitted prototypes and the winners of the contest. They are empowered to adjust for or adjudicate unforeseen events and conditions. Their decisions are final.


COMPUTING ENVIRONMENT

All teams will have equivalent computing equipment. A server will be provided for each team to implement and deploy the prototype. Participants need to upload the results of the competition (including PPT, source code, and display video) on the Amazon competition platform within the specified time of the competition. OWNERSHIP OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The organizers explicitly waive all rights to intellectual created by contestants in the contest. The division of intellectual property right among individual team members and the team’s institution will be governed by the policies of that institution.

作为SWUFE-CDAR年度会议的一部分,成都80”比赛将不仅为学生提供与金融科技的顶尖学者和政府人员交流的机会,还会提高解决问题的能力和编程技能,并展示团队合作精神。比赛亦为业界和学界提供一个平台,以鼓励和吸引公众关注追求卓越的下一代金融和编程专业人士。


介绍

成都八零是一项面向高校学生利用开源技术进行金融产品设计与研发的比赛。参赛团队需要在80小时内为解决既定问题设计出可用原型,并在演示环节中向评审团队展示。


主办方

成都80由西南财经大学,CDAR联盟和成都金控集团组织。组织者为比赛制定政策和一般规则。组织者应全权负责解释规则并就不可预见的情况作出裁决。

团队结构

每个参赛团队应由来自单个学术机构的最多6名学生参赛者组成,并由一名教师或博士后学者作为顾问带领。小组必须有包括男女成员在内的研究生和至少一名本科生。对小组成员没有技术要求。

团队导师可以贡献想法,但禁止在比赛过程中参与实际研发环节。指导老师必须证明参赛者的资格,并在比赛活动之前和期间作为团队的正式联络人。


资格要求

符合资格的学生必须是在参赛院校注册的合格学生(全日制学生、非全日制学生、合作学生、交换学生、实习学生或校外学生),并且愿意且有能力参加成都80比赛。每名学生在各年的比赛中只能代表一支团队参赛。


奖项

比赛会有三种奖项,每队将由评审团按演示环节的标准颁发奖项。创新奖将颁发给五个团队,奖金5000元,先锋奖将颁发给两个团队,奖金30000元,开拓者奖将颁发给一个团队,奖金40000元。此外,获得开拓者奖和先锋奖的团队成员将在疫情结束后被邀请到西南财经大学进行项目交流,主办方将提供住宿和机票费用。


比赛进行

考虑到全球疫情的情况与旅行限制,今年的成都80比赛将在线上举行。比赛要求团队根据给定的题目在80小时内利用云平台提供的服务器和计算机终端来完成项目开发,然后拍摄展示视频,最后团队要在相应时间内提交项目成果与展示视频。视频格式限定为mp4AVImovrmvbrm。在演示环节中,评审将将针对一系列编码,功能性和创新型对项目进行评估,最终将宣布获奖者。每个团队在比赛期间均应独立完成任务。更多比赛细节和系统配置将与参赛团队共享。

在开发阶段结束时,所有团队的原型和演示文稿都将被加载到用于演示文稿会议的通用计算机上。参赛团队需要在比赛规定时间内到亚马逊竞赛平台上上传比赛成果(包括PPT、项目源代码、展示视频)。

按照随机顺序,每个团队将有15分钟的时间介绍他们的项目。由来自学术界和行业的专业人士组成的评审团将根据一系列编码,功能和创新的标准对项目进行评估,最终将宣布获奖者。比赛的进一步细节和系统配置将与注册团队共享。


参赛作品

参赛作品必须由参赛队伍独立完成,不得借助任何第三方协助。参赛作品必须具有一定的实用价值并且没有计算机病毒。参赛队伍在提交作品时拥有作品的全部知识产权,不得有任何侵权行为,并遵守相关法律法规。如有违反,一经发现,立即取消资格并承担相应责任。


比赛评分

在演示环节中,所有团队的项目都将由一组评委根据一系列标准进行评估,这些标准包括演示成果的传达、功能丰富度、系统架构、用户体验、设计和分析能力。评委负责决定提交的原型的分数以及比赛的获胜者。他们有权对不可预见的事件和情况作出调整或裁决。他们的决定是最终的。


计算机环境

参赛团队需要在比赛规定时间内到亚马逊竞赛平台上传比赛成果(包括PPT、项目源代码、展示视频)。PPT与源代码需要在比赛项目研发的规定时间结束前上传到平台上,而展示视频上传的截止时间会稍微延后,请参赛团队提前预留时间上传文件,相关细节看日程安排。如果参赛团队在上传成果期间遇到突发问题,请及时与比赛主办方联系。


知识产权所有权

主办方明确放弃比赛中参赛选手所创造的知识的所有权利。每个团队成员和团队所属机构之间的知识产权划分将由该机构的政策决定。
